Professional drummer and drum teacher based in Warminster, UK

Drum & Symbol

About Me

My name is Alistair, I’m a professional drummer and drum teacher based in Warminster, UK. I’ve been playing drums for over two decades, performing with a wide range of bands throughout my career. In addition to performing, I’ve gained extensive experience teaching drums to students of all levels. I hold a Bachelor of Music with Honours and a Higher Diploma in Music Performance, with a specialisation in drums.

Over the years, I’ve studied under some of the UK’s most respected drummers, including Pete Riley (Guthrie Govan) and Frank Tontoh (Amy Winehouse, George Michael), among many others.

If you’re looking for a local and dedicated drum teacher in Wiltshire, I’d love to help you on your drumming journey!

Drum Lessons

I offer drum lessons for all ages and skill levels, from complete beginners to advanced players. Whether you're aiming for Grade 8 or just want to improve your rhythm, timing, and independence, I can help you develop your skills in a fun and engaging way.

Where Lessons Take Place

Lessons are held in my fully equipped, soundproof studio in Warminster - the perfect space to focus and make some noise! There’s also a waiting room for parents and friends, with complimentary tea and coffee, plus plenty of on-site parking.

My Teaching Approach

I try and shape lesson content unique to each student, whether you're looking to just play causally, pursue academic grades, or just work on a particular area or genre. I teach both the Rockschool and Trinity exam syllabus, which cover a wide range of styles and techniques. That said, I make sure lessons go beyond just exam material - I want learning the drums to be fun and inspiring, not just about passing grades!

I also teach all my students to read and write music. Almost everyone leaves their first lesson able to confidently read drum notation and play along to a backing track.

Easy Booking & Free Trial Lessons

You can book, reschedule, and cancel lessons easily using my online booking system, which is also available as an app. If you’re interested in a free trial lesson, just get in touch by phone or online - I’d love to hear from you!

Stress Free Exams & Qualifications

Using the Trinity digital assessments, I am able to facilitate exams as part of regular lessons, without ever having to leave my studio.

This means students no longer have to endure stressful face-to-face exams in an unknown location. Students still receive full grade qualification with all associated UCAS points and certificates. Many students find this approach relieves huge amounts of anxiety and stress, and allows them to reach their full potential within their own time and space.
